Ron Robinson - Board of Directors / Chairman Emeritus

Ron is a past chairman and chief executive officer of CJRW.  He affiliated full-time with the agency in 1970 after 11 years' experience both in journalism and as a public information officer.  Following his career as a sportswriter for the Arkansas Gazette, he earned a B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.  He then studied public relations at the Boston University Graduate School of Public Communications.

Ron served as an Air Force officer for nearly five years. Achieving the rank of captain, he earned the Bronze Star in Vietnam and the Air Force Commendation Medal for his support in 1969 of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon.

He has been a public relations counselor for various corporate clients, including Arkansas Power & Light Company, First Commercial, Entergy, Carolina Power & Light and Alltel. 
 
In 1993, Ron was appointed to the United States Postal Service Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC) by the postmaster general.  CSAC is the group responsible for initial screening and recommendations of topics to be shown on all U.S. postal stamp and card issues.  During his 15-year tenure, he was involved in the creation and production of over 1,750 U.S. postage stamp issues.  Ron’s hobbies include collecting stamps, Arkansas memorabilia and vintage movie posters.
