“Stamp Out Smoking” Arkansas Department of Health

Stamp Out Smoking is the media and public education campaign for the Arkansas Department of Health Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Program. CJRW has held the Stamp Out Smoking account since the program's inception in 2002. The campaign includes public relations, grassroots campaigns, school and community programs and advertising. Through strategic health communication efforts, the program’s goal is to reduce the number of Arkansans who use tobacco and are exposed to secondhand smoke. Adult smoking rates in Arkansas have declined from 25.1 percent in 2002 to 20.7 percent in 2008. Since 2002, there are 92,400 fewer adult smokers in Arkansas.
