Position Title: Senior Public Relations Manager
Reports To: SVP, Director of Client Services & Public Relations
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Public Relations expert to lead campaigns and projects, develop communications strategies, and provide strategical PR support for major marketing campaigns and PR exclusive clients. Regular contact with clients is essential toward the development of a productive relationship in which strategic and innovative ideas and solutions are offered and well-received. A confident and competent attitude is necessary to instill trust in the agency/client relationship.
Among the necessary requirements is creating strategic plans for clients and offering supporting skills, such as public relations strategy and execution, writing/editing, media relations, and event management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communications strategies
- Develop relationships with local, regional and national media and make effective media pitches
- Develop and manage corporate communication initiatives for clients including crisis communication plans and media training
- Provide analysis of earned media coverage and competitive trends
- Collaborate with other agency disciplines on behalf of the client
- Manage community, civic, and stakeholder engagement programs and outreach on behalf of clients
- Manage and work key events, including planning logistics and implementation
- Proactive strategic leadership and client project management
- Attend and actively participate in client meetings and take action on requested deliverables
- Prepare documents for presentation to client
- Write and edit presentations, communications plans, news releases, reports, op-eds, etc.
- Anticipate client communication challenges and develop strategic recommendations
- Research communication trends and provide competitive analysis
- Review and approve billings/invoices
- Monitor and manage budgets
- This role reports to the Senior Vice President for Public Relations and Client Services
Job Specifications/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or marketing is preferred
- Minimum of five years of marketing/public relations/advertising agency experience or related experience in a corporate communications environment
- Ability to work as an authoritative figure in a busy team
- Demonstrated writing ability and portfolio of writing samples, required
- Ability to organize information into various written formats
- Ability to manage multiple projects and activities
- Ability to effectively organize work, establish and maintain schedules
- Significant experience in professional client relationship management
- The ability to plan and strategize at a senior level
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints
- Willingness to note relevant trends and develop ideas
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Keynote
